Cassandra & Ben's Modern Rustic Wedding at King River Ranch

Y’all let’s start with my animal loving self’s favorite part of this entire day - the amount of freaking animals at this venue! King River Ranch is so rad, they have horses, goats, sheep, and chickens! My heart was dying.

Beyond that, this couple is just the absolute sweetest. Cassandra is a friend I met in college through our longboarding team, and she met her now husband through her career as a personal trainer. We got to sit down at my favorite coffee shop - Summer Moon - and chat about all the wonderful details of their day, mentioning how they wanted to incorporate the river on the property and the horses at KRR! Hell. Yes.

They also chose to incorporate elements of either of their heritages - Ben being of Norse descent, Cassie chose to add a viking style braid to her wedding hairstyle, and wow did it turn out gorgeous! Ben chose to incorporate bolero ties with special customized elements for each of his groomsmen as a nod to her Hispanic heritage. Their boutonnieres from AbloomofBeauty on Etsy, were also soooooo freaking unique and stunning!

I also definitely found myself crying during both the first look and the ceremony - it made it extra powerful that they exchanged and read their vows to eachother privately before the ceremony itself. OH! And the ceremony was a circular format rather than traditional aisles! I love that so much! I feel like it really allows the guests to feel so much more connected to the ceremony.

We had the most magical sunset as we walked out to the river to shoot couples portraits, though I was bummed we had to tear ourselves away from their adorable dog to do so! Having my 2nd shooter there to help with carrying lighting was a life saver - or else I 100% would have fallen into the river as I climbed in to get some dramatic portraits!

The reception was one of the best parties I have ever been a part of - everyone was out on the dance floor having the absolute time of their lives. That coupled with the greatest cupcakes I have ever had at a wedding from Word of Mouth Catering, it was really a dream come true for my constantly dancing - and constantly sugar fueled self.

Their romantic last dance in a candle lit hall followed by a perfect sparkler send off had me dancing with joy all the way home.
